Postcard from Palm Springs

There’s something that feels so right about spending time in the desert. For starters the dry heat instantly warms my mood, as does the reality that the weather forecast will remain steady and mostly the same. It’s also interesting that the desert sun feels generally less intense, especially if you’re poolside in Palm Springs (which is exactly where I found myself for all of September).

Finding the perfect place to stay was easy thanks to a quick and convenient hunt on Airbnb.com. I’m all about location, so I enjoyed browsing for properties via Airbnb’s geomap search feature – just to ensure Justin and I would be comfortable and happy in our neighborhood.

Centrally located in the heart of Palm Springs and only blocks away from the historic Deepwell and Indian Canyon Estates (both being midcentury modern meccas and the latter being home to that iconic pink door), our house was the perfect place to spend a Covid-concsious vacation. Featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an outdoor shower, pool, outdoor kitchen and hot tub – there really wasn’t much reason for ever wanting to leave the property. With the weather being so consistent, each day became filled with small rituals, including a morning dip in the pool and a sunset soak in the hot tub.
