Holiday Season Survival Guide

The Holiday season is here, which inevitably means the following: 1) You’re going to be attending a few parties (maybe wearing an ugly sweater – just for jokes, you know?). 2) You’re going to be getting very ‘merry’ (etc) at the aforementioned festivities. 3) Your skin will suffer. But don’t panic – it doesn’t have to. There are a few tips and tricks to surviving the I-stayed-up-till-4am-and-now-I’m-at-work-at-9am thing. Let’s begin.

SMELL  While you may think you’ve masked the scent of last nights party with a quick change of clothes and a splash of Listerine, you haven’t. In fact you’re a dead giveaway. But there is hope, and that hope is Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille. This smoky-sweet blend infuses creamy tonka bean, tobacco flower, vanilla and cocoa to ensure you smell good all day long.

RADIANCE  Things tend to get a bit dreary after a string of successive late nights. Skin becomes lack-luster, dull and (gasp!) tired-looking. But you can fool your skin (and by that I mean your boss) into thinking you enjoyed 8 hours of solid, uninterrupted slumber. The trick? Aesop’s Fabulous Face Oil. This moisturizing serum alleviates dry, dull and stressed skin and leaves lasting hydration. Floral extracts including wild Ylang and Jasmine Petal work together to ensure complete absorption. No oil slicks here, thanks.

EYES  Bags should only be seen at airports, not under your eyes. And eventhough sunglasses are the obvious quick-fix, they’re not exactly business-meeting appropriate (unless you work somewhere really fun, in which case Woo-Hoo!). La Mer’s Eye Balm Intense uses Marine Ferment and a potent concentration of the Miracle Broth to really get in there and solve things like puffiness, lines and wrinkles. Also the silver-tipped applicator works to cool skin and stimulate microcirculation.

TOUCH-UP  If things start to get a little dull (which they will) you’ll find yourself in desperate need of refreshment. A few quick spritzes of Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist is exactly what you’re after – trust. A rich infusion of rose and marshmallow will work to restore tone and provide immediate hydration. Skin is left balanced, moisturized and dewy.
