Fall Footwear: No Strings Attached

There’s something particularly good about slipping into shoes. Carefree and quick, losing your laces actually means pairing efficiency with ease (just think about airport security). And while laces are integral to most fall footwear, know this: the classic oxford works with and without them. Need proof? Look no further than Trask’s Empire, a classic lace-up constructed from water-resistant suede and American-raised steer. Lined with supple leather and set with multilayered, breathable insoles (which, in case you’re wondering, practically feel like cushions) Trask’s dapper brogues are available in a slew of colorways including navy and tan. I opted for the hunter green – partly because mossy tones are undeniably appropriate for fall, but mostly for the subtle hints of camouflage. Put simply, going laceless is my new thing for fall.

– Pair any laceless shoe with a statement sock and casually rolled jeans. Shown: Trask’s Empire, worn with Acne Jeans and Marni Socks. Photographs by Alexander Atkins. Click here to discover more.
