Guinea-pigging myself out to test the latest and greatest in skincare and fragrance definitely has its perks. For starters, my apartment smells ridiculous, the bathroom cabinets now resemble a Sephora, plus some products actually work, leaving my skin feeling soft and conditioned (with the added promise of infinite luminosity – the ultimate in #skingoals!). So in the spirit of discovery, here’s my four new grooming essentials for fall:
Verso’s Day Cream and Dark Spot Fix offer more than just sleek design. Used in tandem, this complimentary restorative duo works to activate skin and stimulate collagen production. The Day Cream is infused with a unique blend of Vitamin B3 and Retinol 8 complex, a new Vitamin A derivative that works to minimize pores while improving the appearance of sun damage and discoloration. Partnered with the Dark Spot Fix – which uses a high concentration of Retinol 8 specifically to target and correct dark spots caused by UV rays or acne – both products are perfect for treating post-summer skin.
Inspired by the famed Duke of Windsor, Creed’s Royal Mayfair isn’t the musky fragrance I expected. Instead it’s delicate and light, opening with hints of Jamaican Lime, British Gin and Highland Pine. Quickly followed by robust Rose middle notes, the scent concludes with a touch of Bahaman Orange, Cedar and Eucalyptus. Re-released after it’s first commission more that eighty years ago, Royal Mayfair makes an exceptionally elegant understatement – which is exactly what a fragrance should do.
La Mer’s Illuminating Eye Gel works to energize and awaken delicate skin via a potent blend of antioxidants, mostly found in the Miracle Broth. The healing properties specific to fermented sea kelp work to protect against environmental damage and signs of aging, as well as stress and fatigue. As for actual results, following gentle application in circular motions my eye area felt fresh and awake, while leaving skin noticeably bright and supple.
