At the Shows – William Okpo

William Okpo‘s FW/’13 presentation easily nailed it. And by ‘it’ I mean Frieda Kahlo’s eyebrow.
Basically the brow was what I focused on (really, it couldn’t be helped). I mean who doesn’t like a good unibrow paired with Princess-Leia-plus-one hair?

Design sister-act (and Opening Ceremony sweethearts) Lizzy and Darlene Okpo showed a collection that easily captured the spirit of laid-back NYC street-wear. There was a great mix of bold color-blocked patterns, multi-tiered solid skirts and rigid dotted tees – all paired with bright orange open-toed brogues. But what I really got into was the styling. The girls looked determined, urban, modern and powerful. But really, how couldn’t they? Put simply Frieda was no wallflower, nor is anything inspired by her.
